Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it's spin-off Angel: The Series
In short, Buffy is a show about a girl whose destiny it is to battle the forces of darkness and Angel is a slightly darker show about a vampire with a soul trying to atone for his sins. Both Buffy and Angel get help fighting the good fight from a great "supporting" cast though I would never call them supporting. Many times they are the ones that steal the show!
I can hear you already. What that campy kid show? Come on! Well it is campy sometimes, but a kids show?? Never! Most people do not give this show a chance just based upon its name which is a shame. Buffy and Angel are two of the best shows out there. They make me laugh so hard one second and then I'm crying the next. There's passion, angst, humor, brooding, love, family, sex, sorrow, chicks kicking ass, and a lot more. They use the metaphors of vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness to show you the trials and tribulations of real life growing up in which everyone can relate. The storylines and foreshadowing are excellent and keep you at the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. If you are a romantic you'll love the poetic relationships. If you love kicking ass you will love all the fighting since the stunt people are excellent. If you are in it for the beautiful people they have plenty of those for guys and gals. [Psst, Check out James Marsters - Darn his sinister attraction! Go S/B! :)] I worship and curse the writers and Joss Whedon (who is the creator and writer of these shows) usually at the same time! Always trust in Joss! Anyone who can finally make me like Wesley and made an episode about a Buffy-bot that wasn't terrible but awesome deserves praise!

La Femme Nikita
La Femme Nikita is a television show about an anti-terrorist organization called Section One that believes that even though their ends are just, their means of making it happen are ruthless. Nikita is an operative at Section One that was brought in against her will for a crime she did not commit. If she or any other operatives leave Section, they are killed. Inside Section One, Nikita becomes friends with Walter, the head of munitions and Seymour Birkoff, the head of communications. She meets and falls in love with Michael, a level 5 operative who was her teacher and mentor inside Section. The only people she and Michael have to worry about are Operations and Madeline who head Section One and could have them killed at a moments notice. All together, they work to rid the world of terrorism. This show is so awesome. Great story lines, great sexual tension, and people you love to hate! I want to be Madeline when I grow up!
Favorite Characters: Michael, Madeline, Birkoff. I'm a Nikita/Michael and Operations/Madeline shipper.
Farscape
This show is excellent. Yes, there are Muppets but you forget they are puppets really fast. This show is about a group of misfits trying to find their way home. John Crichton is an astronaut who flew through a wormhole one day and ended up in another part of the universe. There he met up with escaped prisoner aliens trying to find their way home aboard a living ship. Oh and a kick ass Peacekeeper - Aeryn.
This is another show for the hopeless romantic in all of us. The unresolved sexual tension between John and Aeryn is wonderfully exciting. The actors are excellent, the writing is wonderful, and there is great action!
Farscape is on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Highlander
Sword fighting, period flashbacks, romance, kicking ass, and great story lines are just some of the things that make Highlander great. Highlander is a show about Duncan McLeod of the Clan McLeod. He was born in the highlands of Scotland in 1592. In 1622 he was killed in a clan battle but came back from the dead immortal. Immortals cannot die (well unless you cut off their head), they do not age, and cannot have children. All immortals are born immortal and are apart of "The Game". This "game" consists of immortals going around and cutting each others heads off for the prize of the quickening, which is the essence that is inside each immortal. In the end there can be only one immortal left in the world with all the quickenings. This person will rule the world. So of course the bad guys want to be this last immortal so they challenge every immortal they see to a fight to the death. But they have rules like no fighting on holy ground and only one on one fights. Each immortal can sense each other through a buzz.
As the show starts, Duncan is going out with Tessa, a human who is an artist. They meet up with Richie Ryan, a street punk who tries to rob Duncan's antique store. Later Tessa is killed and Richie turns immortal. Duncan is also friends with Joe Dawson. Joe is a Watcher which is a secret society of men and women whose job it is to observe and record but never interfere. Well that does not work out when bad watchers try to kill Duncan. So Joe outs himself to make sure that a war does not break out between Immortals and Watchers. Amanda, Duncan's on again off again girlfriend, is a accomplished thief who comes to bug Duncan every once in awhile. And last but never least is Methos, aka Adam Pierson aka ROG(really old guy) aka... who is 5000 years old and befriends Duncan when an immortal came after him. Methos was once Death(on a horse) and rode with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Highlander: The Series lasted 5 seasons and had a spin-off show called Highlander - The Raven starring Amanda.
Favorite Characters: Duncan, Methos, Amanda, Joe, Kronos, Xavier St. Cloud, and Hugh Fitzcarin of neither here nor there. But I love Duncan/Methos!
